Existing developers should migrate to the new ARCore API before updating their app to ARCore SDK version 1.33 or higher. A cloud anchor allows you to position 3D objects in a consistent physical location for multiple people and over time. This service enabled Cloud Anchor functionality in ARCore SDK for Android and iOS prior to ARCore SDK version 1.33. The new ARCore API has superseded this API.
